DURATION - 4 full days ski-touring

OUTLINE

In March 2022 we found our ‘new’ favourite ski touring destination; Alpe Devero, in part because of it’s wild and beautiful location and in part because of the wonderful Agriturismo accommodation we found to stay in. Not far from the Simplon Pass Alpe Devero is a step back in time. Romantically you reach the penzione on ski (45 mins from the roadhead) our overnight bags can be carried up by skidoo. The ski touring is ideal for novices and the more adventurous alike, each day there are excellent tours in all directions from the door step. The Agriturismo is family run and the food is absolutely delicious offering the best of local home grown produce from their animals and vegetables all farmed in a sustainable, traditional way.

TERRAIN

The ski touring starts (and finishes) each day through beautiful open woodland to reach the lovely ski slopes above and the easily accessible peaks that surround the region. Climbs on skins range between 600-1000m.

2-4hrs.

There are a few lifts at Alpe Devero which we may use on one day to for off-piste access... especially if there’s lots of powder skiing to be had.

ITINERARY

• Day 1 - Meet in Alpe Devero and skin to the Agriturismo located in the tiny hamlet of Crampiolo 45mins above Alpe Devero
• Days 2-5 Ski touring journeys
• Day 6 - Return to Alpe Devero and depart
